Who are Taylors Choice?
We are a long established (44 years) family run business spanning four generations. We are a limited, British owned company who have been trading from the Crewe area since 1964. We specialise in Horticultural Trade Supplies and Garden, Home, Pet & Animal products.
Where are they based?
We operate from our 3 acre site just on the outskirts of Crewe in Cheshire, England. From this site we perform all our wholesale activities and run a large Garden & Pet Superstore.
Why are there four websites?
We stock over 5000 products lines and supply products not normally found in your traditional style outlets. Therefore we have created these unique individual websites to cater for the varied customer base that we supply to.
My Delivery Address Does Not Have a Postcode?
If your delivery address does not have a post code, for example an allotment society, the system does not allow you to place your order without this field being completed. If you do not have a post code, please enter the following: AA1 1ZZ and please provide as much delivery address information as you can.
What is a bulk delivery?
Virtually all websites involved in our markets only supply small items that can be sent in a Jiffy bag or supplied in a carton. Because ALL our products are for sale in our websites we have the two regimes. A bulk delivery is classed as any order totaling over 100kgs in weight and would normally be sent out via a haulier using pallets and a tail lift vehicle. We will always advise you when your order is being collected by our haulier and then they will arrange (within 48hrs) a convenient time to deliver your order to you. Bulk orders will not be delivered until you are happy with the arrangements made.
What is a small delivery?
A small delivery is classed as any order totaling 100kgs or less that can be sent as a carton/parcel. These orders would normally be sent via UPS parcel services. We will always email you on the day your order has been collected by UPS so you know your order will be with you shortly, if you provide us your mobile number we will send you a text when your order is despatched. If you are unable to receive your order on that day, UPS will give you the option to have it delivered to an alternative address or will make 2 more attempts to deliver it to your original address.
Why do I pay a delivery charge?
Unlike many websites our site is completely transparent. The prices you see are the very low prices that we charge for goods collected from our massive Trade/Retail outlet in Crewe. You are basically paying the true cost of the goods and then we charge for the delivery. Free delivery is available on most of our orders - please see our shipping charges page for more detailed information.
Is vat included in the prices?
Vat is included in all prices shown (where applicable) whilst viewing products. When placing an order your shopping basket will show the prices excluding vat and give you a subtotal and a vat total. This will also apply to any relevant delivery charges. If you log in on our Horticultural Trades website as a trade user, your prices will be shown excluding vat. If a product does not say 'inc vat' next to it then this item is a zero rated product and no vat is applicable. For sales to EU members vat will be charged at the prevailing UK rate, all other destinations will be exempt of VAT.
What is the “Just for you service”?
As part of our customer service policy we will always try to keep any product (that you use on a regular basis) in stock “Just for you”. This is particularly useful for Pet and Animal owners, as there is such a huge range of products available in this market and it is not always possible to find one place that meets all your requirements.
I want to order from more than one website?
If you wish to order items from more than one website at the same time the minimum order requirements would need to be met in each individual site. However if you order from 2 sites at the same time we will refund the lowest priced delivery charge for you. If your order entitles you to free delivery on one site and you wish to order an item from another site which will incur a delivery charge we will also refund this charge back to your account so allowing you free delivery.
How do I open a Trade Credit Account?
Print out the Trade Account Application Form and send your completed form with 2 copies of recent trade supplier credit invoices over the value of £100.00. We require copies from two separate trade suppliers. If successful we will email you your account number and password to access the trade account facilities. A credit account allows you to order your goods ‘on account’ and then pay for your order within a set time period (usually 30days). This makes ordering online fast and simple. The facility is normally only available to people, companies and societies that are related to horticulture, amenity or any other associated trades, although exceptions can be made.
Do you sell outside the UK?
Yes - we do sell to many worldwide destinations - if you wish to check if your country is included in our destinations, just add your required items to basket and then click on "enter postcode" this will allow you to see a list of destinations and you can select and calculate your shipping costs. IMPORTANT NOTICE: When purchasing goods from outside the United Kingdom, the product legality to overseas countries becomes the FULL responsibility of the purchaser. Taylors Choice cannot offer any guidance to the custom regulations for other countries. NO REFUNDS will be given for goods that are refused, destroyed or detained by overseas customs.
